Enhanced Video Security adds DRM (Digital Rights Management) to your videos. DRM is a technology used to protect video content from unauthorized access and piracy. It works by encrypting the video content and requiring viewers to obtain a license to decrypt and play it. This license is obtained from a third-party license server, which verifies the user's credentials and device before issuing the necessary decryption keys.

In the Dashboard > Settings > Security, you'll see a section for Enhanced Video Security. Check this to turn it on.

Once turned on, newly uploaded videos will have DRM applied, but we must re-encode your existing videos.

To use Enhanced Video Security, Original file backups must be ON. This is because:

DRM can be turned off, but if you've turned it on and then off, you will not be allowed to turn it on again. This is because of the resources required to re-encode the videos.

DRM costs 0.25 USD per active member per month. This will be added as an adjustment once per month. ​

In addition to the DRM, we are constantly monitoring and testing with known piracy software. We actively monitor the following browser extensions and piracy software. When we are alerted of an update, we test to ensure it is not able to bypass our security.
