What is a DDOS attack?
A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is a malicious attempt to disrupt the normal traffic of a targeted site/server, by overwhelming the target or its surrounding infrastructure with a flood of Internet traffic. You can read more about them here.
How often to DDOS attacks happen?
These attacks are rare and most clients will never be affected.
What defences does MMS have?
Our AI system automatically blocks incoming traffic, which appears to be malicious. Should our automation not prove enough to block larger attacks, a senior engineer will be assigned to manage and mitigate the attack. There may be times when we need to temporarily take portions of your site offline to defend against the attack.
Is my personal information at risk?
No. These attacks are not intended to gain access to a server, but to simply disrupt uptime.
