Thumbnails
Updated over a month ago

Content thumbnails are static images that give viewers a preview of the content. They are crucial for marketing as they are the first thing potential viewers see, influencing whether they join or unlock.

Multiple thumbnail options

You can now add multiple thumbnails for each photoset and video, such as SFW and NSFW content previews to remain legally compliant where age verification is required. This way, you can still show your content to those who have not yet verified their age, and not have all of your content blurred / blocked from being seen.

Video thumbnails

For your video thumbnails, you can upload a custom thumbnail, or one that has been generated automatically from your video (but remember the benefits of having an SFW version so non-verified users can see something).

In the first thumbnail, you'll specify what those WITH access will see. Those with access, are "behind the paywall", and have access via a membership, or via an unlock. This thumbnail can be NSFW.

The second thumbnail is for those WITHOUT access, or "in front of the paywall". We strongly recommend using a SFW image so that a thumbnail will show in regions where age verification is required. (Learn more about the SFW checkbox, content blurring, and word redaction).

IMPORTANT: Thumbnails can only be marked as SFW if they are completely non-explicit, without nudity, sexual themes or terms, or graphic imagery.

What do visitors see when I don't have SFW thumbnails?

Visitors that are required to verify age will see this if you DO NOT HAVE SFW thumbnails:

Photoset thumbnails

Each photo uploaded to a photoset features two checkboxes. One that will allow you to select the photoset thumbnails, and another to specify whether it is SFW.

You can select thumbnails in the order that you would like them to appear. IF a thumbnail is marked as SFW, it will show for users without access ONLY IF "Blur thumbnail when photoset access is locked" is unchecked.

You are STRONGLY encouraged to include at least one SFW thumbnail for each photoset so that users without access AND in regions where age verification is required will not see blurred thumbnails.

Thumbnail image tips

  • Ensure your thumbnails are in 16:9 aspect ratio and minimum 1200x630 pixels, but higher resolution (pixels) is best.
